The Naked Cowboy
Releases Long Awaited EP
NAKED COWBOY
Year Of The Cowboy
EP in Oct 2007
|
After
nearly a decade of standing in the center of New York City's largest
tourist stop, Times Square, in nothing more than tighty-whiteys,
cowboy boots and hat, Naked Cowboy is finally ready to take his brand
of music off the streets and onto the radio. Courtesy of his exclusive
producers, 4Sight Music Productions, his debut EP, recorded mixed
and mastered entirely at JAMBOX, will hit the shelves the first week
of October.
Before meeting the experienced team of 4Sight, Naked Cowboy (real name Robert John Burck) was already on a relentless path of success. Aside from simply appearing on the NYC streets, he's been featured in countless segments and interviews for television, radio and print press. Most recently, MTV regularly ran a news segment featuring Cowboy's progress with the album.

Furthermore, he was tapped by car giant General Motors to star in a commercial that premiered during the 2006 Superbowl.
But don't think that all this exposure is going to keep him away from Times Square. He'll be working there for a very long time, connecting with the people that made him a star in the first place. “My passion is still to go directly to the people every single day,” he says. “And by being simple, innocent, and with the people on a daily basis,
that is the power.”

Lori Michaels
signs record deal with
DreamMakers Records
|
|
(This artist affectionately
labeled “THE Dyke Diva” takes matters in to her own hands)
DreamMakers Music recording artist: Lori Michaels- is the latest “JAMBOX
overnight success story” to hit the LGBT community. She has been gaining
much attention by headlining several major gay pride events and performing
at the hottest clubs with her popular show-that she created: Me & The Girls.
Lori has been labeled many things: sultry, soulful, sexy (of course), sassy, lusty, THE Dyke Diva (our favorite!), a dance sensation, etc, etc etc…..but one thing she is NOT- is an “overnight success”. As a "music luva", she has been working on her music career for almost 2 decades, now- well, just not fully engaging in the "business" of music.
With brief success as a teenager being selected to be in the girl group Amoretto, having a freestyle dance classic hit you may remember, “Clave Rocks” (which is still an audience favorite when she performs a brief "teaser" of it at her Me & The Girls club shows, to this day) and as the opening act for a New Kids on the Block tour-she has been commanding stages for YEARS! With focus being on her non-profit organization (that she created) since 1989, she has taken her Reach Out musical presentations and practically single handedly has produced & organized MAJOR events, including Reach Out with the Nets, Reach Out with the Jets, and so much more! But ever since she came OUT as a gay artist, with her creation of her show Me & The Girls -two years ago - she has hit her stride in this business of entertainment.
We’ll save the usual horror stories of business relationships turned sour and skip to the part where this “Dyke Diva” took her career in to her own hands and built her own little empire that is currently taking the gay community by storm.

Highnotes And Lonotes Of The Month |
An Expose
on Dead Beat Customers pt.1 |
Over the years, We've taken financial blows from
companies out to stiff us for payment of our services. This includes
personal friends artists and companies that approached us with solid promises
of strong business client relationships, and ended up giving us the shaft
and jumping ship without payment for our services. The result is a near
fatal of sometimes fatal blow to recording studios.
This has added up to loss of revenue in the tens of thousands sometimes
per anum.
In this column, I want to expose the shuystiness of some of these
companies and unglorify them for their shady practices. Look out for them
when doing business and don't trust them.
You see, companies
that offer a service in the music industry are not much different than
the struggling artist looking for a break with that label that’ll
get behind them and make them a star. We are on the constant hunt for
that good solid consistent client that’ll help bring in the funds
necessary to maintain and grow our business. When we are approached by
representatives of seemingly established companies we tend to drop our guards and become
all ears, open to the possibilities that can happen when an artist with
an official budget comes thru your doors. This has shown over time to be a big mistake. So let's start with our most
recent additions to our blacklist page. Here we go...more
